Reminders about Social Media

All of us long to be loved. We search to satisfy this craving in different ways. But without love– it is easy to feel worthless. Maybe not worthless, but definitely worth less. Many people have shingle off fragments of this feeling through attention; perhaps this is why social media has become such a hit these days, people are trying to fill their longings with little comments and numbers– both acting as reassurances that some people in this interconnected world know that they exist. This attention trolleys with it a moment of quaint satisfaction.

But a number isn't very 3d now, is it? It doesn't stimulate the same feelings as a close friend or a wise counselor. It doesn't show more than a snapshot from one perspective. If our world is limited to a screen, then our world becomes quite shallow. #literally Don't let your mind be rewired to believe that your happiness is dependent on how much you're noticed. I think we find happiness searching for ways to show others we love them.

For love is about giving not receiving.

Das why social media sucks at making people happy.

P.S. It is possible to have 3 homes. Home= place where people I love, live.
