BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMDIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAMUNDO!
Yes. I was transferred.
First, all of you must know Brazilian missionary transfers... are kind of a big deal. Everyone who is going to be transferred (and their companions) get on their perspective ônibus and meet at this place called the center.
duh duh duh
And there we wait, for missionaries and all their luggage to come piling into this bus station. Everyone is all jolly and happy- someone playing this random grand piano, and awaiting the news with anticipation of a dying rhino. And everyone in the station is wondering what kind of a group of aliens is this. (Brazilians, Bolivians, Americans, Englaterrians, Argentinians, really every type of people in the world all dressed nicely and smiling)
and then
Boom.
NEW COMPANION.
Boom.
NEW HOME.
Boom.

and I have a yellow house
yup.
So basically I wake up every day screaming and bleating happiness. (send a picture next week)
Also, I met a paleontologist elder. I have no Idea how to spell that. I met him and scored a part of a dinosaur bone. WUDDDDUP best day ever.
Me and my piece of dinosaur
just kidding
But not really.
Sister Gòmez is my new companion. She is from Uruguay. And I already love her to death. We have learned so much ALREADY. Turns out world, I have difficulties telling people what I am thinking and feeling. So- she is helping me imensimente. and I am learning not to be a hermit. (definite bonus)
Jundiai Is so beautiful. I literally have cried for the beauty of it all. We have a lil playground near our house and oh it is just grand.
the views *endless tears*
You know- I will admit something to you, world. I wasn't expecting to change much or grow much on the mission. Yes, Everyone told me I would... how it is inevitable. I expected to grow a bit, help a lot of people, work my soul to its breaking point, and... come home, happy lil Alissa.
But I never really understood that Growth sometimes comes with pain. And Pain often is a good thing in the end.
Sorry folks I don't have much time today. But Of all things, I think I am slowly, steadily learning how to forget me. And at the same time BE ME. haha
Serve a mission and you will understand.
I love this work. I love my God. I love the wonderful people of Brazil.
P.S. for all of you non-mormons out there! here is a fun fact. The Book of Mormon. Is not a book about mormons. Mormon was a person! He was the one who compiled the book of scripture thousands and thousands of years ago!!! mindBLOWN
