Mind and Heart are One

Cut off the heart.
Cut off its cry
Away with you heart
I turn a blind eye

Listen to my head
I am convinced to stay
I will be here
At ease, on my way

The heart’s hidden
'neath a worn wool coat
shunned by its maker
Choked at the throat

but its whisper carried through
Who are you to you
if I am not there too?

Eyes open, realization whole
I ran back to my heart to find my soul

Entrenched in regret
none but me to blame
I am sorry heart,
never again.

No more will I cut you off,
i am done.
Two is not better than one.
