I ate my first chicken heart- check that baby off the bucket list. (eat something that sounds gross?) Yup. It tastes like... a tough part of a chicken.
We have had birdies visiting us in our kitchen as we study each day. I like them a lot. Mostly because they are super snoopy and sneaky. When all is still and quiet. They will fly in through the window and grab food like 'lil spies and then disapparate. Just to return in about 2 minutes to grab another little lump of rice or whatever treasure they can find in our hobbit hole. It is really quite cute.
A heavenly moment
My absolute favorite artistic wall creation here in Brazil
We made chocolate chip cookies this week. This is a big deal considering brown sugar and chocolate chips don't exist. And thus we saw (Sister Menden and I) it was necessary to go all caveman on bars of chocolate. WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FURTHER THE WORK PEOPLE.
Also? This week I met an elderly gentleman who is from the Judah's tribe of Israel. He speaks more than 7 languages fluently (including English- woot) and calls us his "Queridas". A precious treasure. *Dying of happiness every time we talk. He is a genius, full of love. I guess I haven't met many people in my life with this combination.
Just a few things:
I am constantly humbled here- ('tis a relieving thing the Lord qualifies who he calls.)
Every effort counts. Literally.
I am continuing to understand and learn more every hour
MILAGRES (miracles) ARE REAL!
Alas, all is well.
The peace that comes from knowing your will is aligned with the will of the Lord.
There is nothing like it.
The mission is amazing. Beautiful. Confusing. Bettering. Humbling. Difficult. Wonderful.
and about a hundred other adjectives all combined into 18 months of a life.
I am so blessed to be here to serve, to be in Campinas to have the most wonderful mom companion(trainer), to have a home and a schedule. To have an amazing ward and direction.
Sometimes I have to take a breather.
Because.... this is a lot.
But at the same time- I know God qualifies who he calls.
I am here for some reason. I KNOW IT. Not sure exactly what that specific reason is yet. But I am trusting Him.
Trusting.
And loving.
