Today I woke up at 11:35. I never EVER sleep in that late. The apartment was deserted and my class started in 20 minutes. So naturally I threw on my grandpa's shirt, brushed my teeth, grabbed my binder and ran. RAN. RAN. past the ducks, up the stairs, through the halls and into my classroom.
Perfect timing- Jean stood up there, her thick glasses and 80s dress hanging loosly about. She stood there with kind eyes and years of experience, study, and learning. She stood there and testified- using the words of the prophets and apostles, using doctrinal passages that supported the truths she taught us, using her years of experience and personal faith.

And I sat there, scribbling like a mad man.
I wanted to remember everything
So this post today is just a little piece from that.
She began with Jesus' preparation for His ministry (40 days fasting in the wilderness)
"We see how Satan tries to take advantage of us when we are weakest. The Savior was capable of sinning- temptation was an option for him just as everyone else- only then would he be able to know and understand us (all of our weaknesses, all of desires, worries, and doubts.) Just imagine how hard Satan must have tried to get Jesus to sin. That would have meant No atonement, No purpose, and No hope of returning to live with God. If Jesus Christ had sinned, Satan would have succeeded.

"the devil knows, where to tempt, where to put in his telling blows. He finds the vulnerable spot. Where one was weak before, he will be most easily tempted. . . . Accordingly, we must be alert constantly. We catalogue our weaknesses and move in against them to overcome them.”-Spencer W. Kimball
But look at Matthew 4 notice how the temptations begins with if...
"If thou be the son of God...
Questioning a very truth that Jesus knew by saying... lets say you actually were the Son of God...wait. But He was.
Satan uses doubt as a tremendously powerful weapon against us.
"IF god loves me, why do I not feel Him answering my prayers?
"IF the law of tithing is real, why have I lost my job?
"IF I have worth, why do I feel so worthless?
"IF people are good, why can't I trust them?
"IF there is a God up there, why is he letting me flounder about- not knowing really anything?"
Satan is the author of all doubt. He personalizes it to the point where people are willing to throw all faith aside for that single idea"
She went on to say in her quiet but powerful voice.
"Never be ashamed of your belief- even if it is just that, a belief. Lead with your Faith.
The power of the Holy Ghost is stronger than Satan even if we are in need of repentance."
She began to tell us of a time when she knew Satan was there, tempting her, making her want to do things she would not normally want to do. She felt horrible. Dirty. Worthless. Rotten. and she finally said something along the likes of
"BUG-OFF-SATAN. I know you are here, and I know you want me to do such and such but I will not do it. *she began to tear up* No matter how hard you try to convince me to. I will not choose to do wrong.
Satan has no power against us when we tell Him to leave in the name of the Savior."

Resist him, and you will gain in strength.
If he tempts you in another way, resist him again, and he
will become weaker.
In turn, you become stronger,
until you can say, no matter what your
surroundings may be,
‘Get thee behind me, Satan
-President David O. Mckay
Find the strength. The strength to resist and the strength to believe.
Be valiant.
