Commitments

What is that in the wind I hear?
What is that in the wind?

"Remember ye the commitments you have made."
"Remember ye the commitments you have made."

Repeat it repeat it, and don't forget it,
but the scrambling sky tries to rip it away
I run home all the faster "concentrate on remembering" I say
It circles again and again

"Remember ye the commitments you have made."
"Remember ye the commitments you have made."

What have I told God I would do?
What have I told God I would be?
Has she been all those little things, lets see...
Has she become all those things, little she.

It gets difficult. It won't be easy. And at that moment when you wonder whether or not you are where you are supposed to be, or whether or not what you have done is right, don't be afraid. God never changes. We do.
It is easy to commit ourselves to something in that moment of commitment and promise; but the true test is when we have had time to mull over on it. When those things we committed not to do call to us, when the things we committed to do seem distant... that is when you have to use all your will power and might to be unwavering.
I trust you. I believe in you. Completely.
And so does God.
Don't lose sight of what you have grasped.
For it is, as you say, beautiful. Beautiful and precious.

Not so little anymore.
She recounts it all on the blank tree
Writing and wishing and reminding herself
what she was meant to be.

You were destined for greater things than these,
just you be YOU, and you will see.
