Okay Precursor,
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints aka. a Mormon.
and I truly believe that every aspect of this Church is ordained of God. The way it is organized, the leaders, and most especially the doctrine taught. I have not been brainwashed into thinking this, I have prayed, read the scriptures, and searched diligently for a confirmation of the truth.
And it came.
I know it to be true. It is a part of me.
And you can not judge for yourself until you have tried it yourself.
Read the Book of Mormon and sincerely asked God. I promise if you do this, an answer will come.
Besides, what would you loose if you didn't get one? This book has brought me closer to God than any other experience in my lifetime. It holds the secrets to the eternities.
So, one of those doctrines Mormons believe in is life after death.
I believe God has a plan for each and every one of us. One step in that plan is being born and another step is passing away. I take comfort in knowing life continues after we die and we do not mold into the earth or become part of a supreme being. We are still us, the spirit sons and daughters of God.
But most of all, I take comfort in knowing families can be together forever. That is one reason "Mormons" have the temples. Temples are houses sanctified and dedicated to God. "Holiness to the Lord, House of the Lord" is written on every temple. Ordinances when performed in the temple, are eternal. (That sealed on earth is also sealed in heaven.)
This means, that if one of my family members passed on- not only would I see them again, but we would still be an eternal family.
God loves us. He wants us to be happy and He knows how to make us happy.
May we let Him.
