Illustrious Wednesday- "Jack's in Town"

How this one happened: One of my favorite teachers wrote a book called "A Christmas Fairytale."
 I thought "Dude! This would make a killer illustration."
Second Thought "Oh yeah... don't I owe The Room* a drawing?" Next thing I know, BOOM! This baby is born.

“His entire dress seemed to be a part of him as he stepped into the light, his knees bending in a strange, unnatural manner, as though he didn’t have kneecaps but had to strain and click his legs to move them. His arms were hidden behind his back. ...He looked Danny’s way. The man’s face showed no emotion. Just paleness.
“Around these parts, I’m known as Jack.
I’m sure you’ve heard of me.”
-A Christmas Fairytale

As you may have guessed, the guy on the left is in fact Jack Frost, Ze cold darkhearted Villain. The guy on the right is my brilliant English teacher. A Villain vs. its Author. Almost approaching as friends,  although who has the upper hand here? The creation, or the creator?

The best thing about illustration, is exaggeration. You have liberty to make things big, small, or straight-up weird.  Namely stick legs. I am not sure why all my characters end up being placed on two sticks that try and call themselves legs. But, maybe that is why so many of my characters end up looking like creatures.
Jack=spider.
Teacher=antelope.
But hey, who doesn't like stick legs?

*The Room refers to my teacher's classroom. The walls are covered in pictures, photos, band signs, stuffed ravens, and a whole assortment of meaningful rubbish. It is a basically a growing thing that deserves a capitalized name.
